Happy Monday Morning!

Right now while you're reading this... if you opened it right when I sent it out - I am on my treadmill. Yep. I got lazy again and stopped walking. Well - not really lazy. I had the horrible bladder infection ordeal that went on for three weeks and then the holidays - and so now I have no excuse. It's back to walking. I have to get those 10,000 steps in each day that I can. So that's what I'm doing. Afterward - shower and breakfast and the back to work!

Today is Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Much respect for him. Glad we honor him with a national holiday.

My kids are home today - but they are sleeping in and then will probably just chill out. It's been somewhat of a busy weekend. My goal this week is not just the walking being brought back in as part of my schedule - but I have to start setting a bedtime for myself. I've spent too many night working until 3am and 4am. It's got me all messed up. Last night I ended up having one of those horrible coughing fits in the middle of the night. I hate those. It scares the crap out of me. I've had issues with GERD in the past (my GERD nightmare) and thought that was behind me.... but seems it's back again.

I think it's the long work hours and just stress in general. The progesterone cream set me up for no period at all - but I am back on the cream and using it 25 days a month now and keeping myself at 30mg's a day. I do 15 morning and 15 at night. I think it's helping in some ways - maybe - but the no period, I don't think that's good. So we'll see how this plays out this month. Just trying to stick it out and see if it eventually helps me resolve many of the issues I originally started this journey for.

I am getting real serious about dropping this extra 12 pounds - I have to know if it's not causing some of these issues. Extra weight is never good for any of us. My Grandfather, a retired heart surgeon told me once that for every ONE pound of weight you carry, your body creates an extra MILE of blood vessels to feed it and that's a mile more your heart has to work at to get blood too!

So right now, my heart if working harder than it should have to in order to FEED my extra fat. It's working 12 miles harder for every pass through. That's crazy. So - I'm journaling what I eat and trying to keep myself at 1200-1400 calories a day. I think at 45 it's going to be the only realistic way to get this off. So my 10,000 steps, a little weight lifting and watching every bite I eat. I feel really good about this - and having the right state of mind is the hardest part in my opinion.

So - that's my day...

That's what's going on. Nothing super exciting - but trying to make the most of this day I've been given. Posting new articles this week - will let you know about those in Wednesday's newsletter!
