From Kelly's Happy Little Laptop:
Did you have a nice Valentine's Day? I hope so.
Next is one of my absolute favorite holidays - St. Patrick's Day! Being the Irish girl I am, I love have shamrocks around the house and wearing green! I wish our town had a big St. Pat's celebration, but they don't. Guess the Irish didn't settle in NC much! LOL Not much Ireland heritage here?
My daughter has a terrible cough. Her friend she had over yesterday was coughing too and they said their teacher had lost her voice due to a cold. I guess some kind of cootie is going around. I think it's this crazy back and forth weather. One day it's close to 70 and the next it's snowing. Very weird. My daughter is toughing it out though, she wants that perfect attendance award. She even called a bit ago and said she's staying after school for 4-H. My son stays after everyday for Robotics club and they are almost ready for the state competition.
I have to say - my kids are really good kids. They've never been any trouble. I am amazed how well they've turned out. I often look at my husband and say...."How did we do this?? Were they just born perfect??? Or did we have something to do with it? Maybe we don't suck as parents!" LOL
I know some people feel glad they don't have kids - but my kids, they've made me a much better person. More patient, less self-involved. They're good little boogers!
I'm still counting my calories and walking. The scale DID move a half pound today. Yep. I'll take it. I find I am feeling better with scheduled snack and meal times and eating around 1400-1500 calories a day. Honestly, I'm stuffed. I think in the past I've done a lot of mindless eating. I know I am a stress eater. So paying attention to those issues has helped the last few days avoid things like cupcakes, chips...
I'm NOT hungry - I just see other people eating those things, or I am watching a show and my brain says...."You need that too!" Nope. I don't. My arteries and ass don't need it either!
I posted a new article for you. It might be helpful for those trying to make extra cash on a flexible schedule. Not sure if you've heard of Task Rabbit - but you can read about it here:
